Namaah. The Legends in the Gothic Constitutions recite the story of how the Sciences originated by attributing their invention to the children of Lamech, who lived before the Flood (see Genesis 4: 18-29). As the Legend goes, Lamech had 4 children, Jaball, Juball, Tubal-Cain, and Namaah. Each of them invented some of the Seven Sciences, Namaah being the originator of weaving. The Sciences were inscribed on two pillars to preserve them in the event the world were destroyed by either flood or fire. (See PILLARS AND COLUMNS.)
