Board of General Purposes.

A sort of Board of Directors for the United Grand Lodge of England, consisting of the Grand Master, Pro Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master, the Grand Wardens, Grand Treasurer, Grand Registrar, the Deputy Grand Registrar, and others to the number of about 30 in all, six of the appointive members being nominated by the Grand Master, and the rest elected by the Grand Lodge. The Board has authority to hear and determine all grievances and complaints and generally to have supervision over all matters relating to the Craft. The term is also used by other bodies for similar purposes.
