Beaton, Mrs.
Beaton, Mrs. An English woman, whose given name no one has seen fit to record, who died in St. John’s, Maddermarket, Norwich, England in July 1802 at the age of 82 years and who is said to have discovered the secrets of Freemasonry by hiding in the wainscoting of a lodge room. It is so reported in A General History of the County of Norfolk, (1929). But, as that publication came 27 years after the death of the subject, it is probably to be classed as ”a (comments removed).”
