Baldric.

Baldric. A belt or sash worn over the right or left shoulder diagonally across the breast, and often decorated. It is still used in European courts to indicate rank or orders of chivalry, etc. In the United States it is used only by fraternal orders as a relic of former display in uniformed ranks and, among others, the Knights Templar, where it appeared as early as 1862.
