Anno Mundi
Anno Mundi. Abbreviated A. M., meaning in the year of the world, and used in the Scottish Rite, computed by adding 3760 B. C. to the present year. 1958 A. D. would be 5718 A. M. This is the same as the Hebrew year, Anno Hebraico, except that the Hebrew new year begins in September and, accordingly the above figure of 5718 A. M. covers our year September 1957 to September 1958.
