Ammonitish War

Ammonitish War. This war plays no direct part in the Fellow Craft degree as does the Ephraimitish War. It was because the Israelites had attacked the Ammonites and taken great plunder, without inviting the Ephraimites to participate, that the latter rebelled, producing the war referred to in the Second Degree lecture. If a comment is not out of order, it may be pointed out that there appears to be no Masonic connection, significance, teaching or other moral lesson illustrated by either of said wars, and mention of both could profitably be omitted from the ritual.
