Now obsolete in Freemasonry, this word was used in the Lansdowne MS. in the following Charge: ”Every Mason of the Craft that is Mason allowed, ye shall do to him as ye would be done unto yourself.” It is not the same as accepted or adopted, which had specialized application to non-operatives admitted to the Craft. As used in the above example, it meant recognized, acknowledged, or approved. At the present day we would probably say worthy or, technically, in good standing.
