Albrecht, Heinrich Christoph

Albrecht, Heinrich Christoph. German author, (b. 1763, d. 1800) who left unfinished the publication of a work begun in 1792 entitled, Collections toward a Critical History of Freemasonry, and who also published a series of papers containing Notices of Freemasonry in the First Half of the Sixteenth Century. He was one of the first to attempt a rational history of the Society and adherred to the theory that it sprang out of the German Steinmetzen as did several other German writers, including the greatest of all, Findel.
