Ahiman Rezon

Ahiman Rezon. The Book of Constitutions for the Ancient Grand Lodge of England, written by Laurence Dermott. Published first in 1754, it became a foundational document for various American Grand Lodges. Its name is the subject of scholarly debate, with interpretations ranging from the ”Will of Selected Brethren” to ”There is the full account of the law.” Dermott, a critic of the ”Moderns,” famously used the text to promote ”Ancient” superiority, though he ironically borrowed much of its structure from earlier Modern and Irish constitutions.
