African Lodge

African Lodge. African Lodge No. 459, E. C., was warranted by the Grand Lodge of England (Moderns) on September 29, 1784. This lodge was formed when Prince Hall and 14 other men of color were initiated into Freemasonry by Serg. John Batt of Military Lodge No. 441, I.C., on March 6, 1775.
