Adonhiramite or Adoniramite Masonry

Adonhiramite or Adoniramite Masonry. Due to confusion over the names Hiram and Adonhiram in the 18th century, a rival Masonic system emerged on the Continent. While orthodox Masonry focused on Hiram Abif, the Adonhiramites (promoted by figures like Louis Guillemain de Saint Victor) claimed that Adoniram, the tax collector and overseer, was the true architect of the Temple. This led to a lively dispute and the creation of competing degree systems.
